Thier Anita személyi edző, személyi edzés

My name is Anita Thier, and I am a personal trainer.

I graduated as a bodybuilding and fitness trainer in 2009.

Starting in 2009, I worked at Hungary’s first official CrossFit gym. I participated in CrossFit and powerlifting training courses, competed in raw bench press (WPC), and helped prepare powerlifters for competitions (IPF, WPC).

I have been living in the U.S. since 2016. I attended a powerlifting seminar, trained a powerlifter (USAPL), and competed in weightlifting competitions (USAW).

Since 2020, I have been conducting training sessions in Hungary again for elite-level athletes (cycling, tennis, etc.) and the general public, for both youth and adults. In 2021, I completed a yoga course, and I also teach TRX classes.

How does personal training at the gym work?

The sessions are varied, meaning no two workouts are the same… One reason for this is to keep the workouts from getting boring. The other is that our bodies quickly adapt to any type of movement, so it no longer feels strenuous—meaning the workout is efficient because the body performs it “economically,” which in turn slows down progress. With varied workouts, our body always receives a “new stimulus,” allowing it to respond with meaningful progress. Here’s an example: running leads to weight loss… so why haven’t long-distance runners lost all their weight yet? Because the body gets used to running… change is always important!

What about Online workouts?

Do your workouts at home or anywhere you like!

Online workouts have many benefits: with a creative trainer, your workouts can be varied and effective; you don’t have to travel to and from the gym; and very little equipment is needed (you can even do them without any equipment at all). For mothers, it’s difficult to find the time to go to the gym while caring for a baby, but the online world makes it easy for them to exercise at home as well. Time is one of the most important factors these days.

Online training is also a great option for those who feel self-conscious about working out in a group setting

What does personal training typically involve?

  1. Assessment

The first session is essentially the fitness assessment itself, during which I observe your movement coordination, exercise capacity, etc. This is when we get to know each other and discuss our future collaboration; while observing your workout, I get a sense of your current fitness level. We discuss your goals and any potential issues, such as injuries, illnesses, etc.

  1. Nutrition Counseling

In my experience, when I create a meal plan, unfortunately, it “doesn’t last long”… meaning that at first, everyone tries to stick to it enthusiastically, but all it takes is a small setback… or maybe they don’t have the right ingredients at home, or they’re not in the mood for it, etc… That’s why we adapt to everyone’s eating habits; I suggest that my clients keep a food diary, which later shows if there’s anything that needs “adjusting”… I make suggestions for changes. Often, it’s enough to simply swap out a single ingredient, or adjust the cooking method or preparation. This way, we don’t have to make major changes to existing habits; we simply improve and refine them. No one will feel like they have to change everything, because, unfortunately, that doesn’t work in the long run. Everyone will learn what the right choice is—what, when, and how much?

  1. Lifestyle Counseling

This is a fairly broad topic, and one of its main components is nutritional counseling. Lifestyle counseling includes nutritional counseling, supplemented by, for example, recommendations for shopping, cooking, ordering food, etc. Everyone’s lifestyle is different, so I can provide completely personalized advice. For example, I might recommend specific stretching exercises to do for a few minutes every hour for someone who works at a desk all day…
